New volunteer Aurélien

This post is written by Aurélien Rinaudo. My name is Aurélien and I’m a new volunteer, I will stay here for 3 months. I came here because the subject of the volunteering interested me but also because I love nature and mountains and I wish to discover the Tamsweg region.   Since I was a child, I’ve always been interested in agriculture. I already did internships in different kinds of farms in France where I was able to experiment with both intensive and extensive models of agriculture. This enabled me to understand how agriculture works and the issues surrounding it. Since I have....

My on-arrival training experience in Vienna

Last week, I had the most amazing experience during an on-arrival training organized by the National Agency for volunteers. This four-day training provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with other volunteers, share our impressions of Austria, learn about our projects, and get detailed information about Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps. It was also a chance to voice our expectations and concerns about our time in Austria.   Making Connections   The training kicked off with a delightful walking tour through the picturesque streets of Vienna. This informal setting....

Start of my volunteering in Tamsweg, Austria

Hello. I am Lika, a new volunteer from Georgia. I will be volunteering for the European Wilderness Society for 12 months.  The reason I chose this particular project is that I wanted to gain international experience and be closer to nature. I saw this volunteering opportunity on the internet and immediately applied. The European Wilderness Society contacted me, we had an interview, I was selected, and then I started preparing for the trip.  Travelling to Tamsweg After completing all the paperwork and official procedures for traveling, I finally arrived in Tamsweg.  This is my....

Vienna: Belvedere, Schönbrunn and Lovely 4 Days in Austria’s Capital City

Olha is here, and I’m thrilled to continue recounting the story of my trip around Austria! In my previous post, I delved into the captivating allure of Salzburg, a city that left me yearning for more as I embarked on the next leg of my journey: Vienna, the majestic capital of Austria.  Read about the start of the adventure here: A Day in Salzburg: St. Peter’s Abbey, Hohensalzburg Fortress and A Lot of Walking Despite the lingering fatigue from the preceding day’s ambitious trek of 24 thousand steps, conquering both uphill and downhill terrains, the sheer exhilaration of my....

A Day in Salzburg: St. Peter’s Abbey, Hohensalzburg Fortress and A Lot of Walking

Olha is here and I’m excited to recount my day in Salzburg — the starting point of my grand Austrian adventure during my volunteering at the European Wilderness Society with the support of Erasmus + European Solidarity Corp programme! Picture this: A rainy morning as a backdrop for the start of the adventure. But yet from that moment on, the sun accompanies me all the way to the end. With the help of Lisa, our project manager, I set off to Radstadt. From there, I boarded a train to my first destination: Salzburg, the cherished hometown of Mozart. During my travels, I never adhere to a....
